So, a few weeks ago, I began a small project. My goal was to find any and all media relating to Dinosaur Planet, before it's transformation into "StarFox Adventures". Luckily, through the magic of the Wayback Machine (really amazing thing actually) & really hard searching, I created the media archive posted below. Take a look at the "ReadMe!.rtf" file once you download the archive. It goes into much greater detail about the project (too long to post here). If you have any media that's not included in it, feel free to shoot me a PM, or, just post a link or the image itself. The links are listed below. Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/?1mdymwjmzmy "Dinosaur_Planet_Media.sitx" version, about 150MB http://www.mediafire.com/?yog0yzokddz "Dinosaur_Planet_Media.zip" version, about 150MB (should be more compatible with various OS's)
I haven't had a chance to download yet, but this looks very very nice. I'm looking forward to taking a look. Thank you very much!
Just downloaded this and all I can say is Wow great job getting all of this together.. I kinda forgot about this game until now.. :crying:
Thanks! I really hope to see this game someday in the state is was before it switched to GC and Starfox. Dinosaur Planet would've been an N64 classic. I had the pleasure of playing a 5 level demo at ECTS back in 2000
Wow! That's pretty damn awesome Might you have any videos/pictures of the ECTS demo, pictures of the booth, etc? No problem! Enjoy
Hrm, didn't think about that. Maybe I'll work on that next ;-) edit: Just did some quick searching on web.archive.org of http://web.archive.org/*/http://rareware.com/recent/games/conker/ & all of the media that was on that site (concept art. movies & screenshots) are no longer there. They weren't copied to the Web Archive Sorry
...Yeah. I remember going there myself and discovering that. There was also this cute pic of polygonal Berri that used to be on the cast page; personally, I thought it looked better than the CG one. I downloaded it to my ancient 1997-era CTX desktop; it probably died with the rest of the data on that infernal contraption. T_T;
I did some more searching but, I think most of the TT Conker 64 media is lost :crying: A shame honestly
Unfortunately no, I didn't make any footage or take any pictures, I wish I had now :-/ I just checked the Nintendo PressKit from ECTS 2000 and it had a few of the pictures in better quality....
:crying: They're beautiful ray: Any chance you could send me all of the Dinosaur Planet-related materials from the PressKit? Those would be an amazing addition to the Media Archive. If you need somewhere to upload it to, mediafire.com is pretty reliable. I would give you 100% credit for this, obviously :thumbsup: Thanks again for posting those pics :nod:
Sure... they're all in EPS format but I'll convert them to jpeg tonight and upload them. The presskit doesn't reveal much more info about DP than you already know and the shots are ones you already have. Besides the screenshots on the CD there's half a page of info about the game in one of the pressreleases, I'll scan that too... but again, it's nothing we don't already know :-/
Thank you ray: Any chance you could just upload the entire DP folder from the PressKit? I could do the converting on my laptop if it'd be easier :shrug: Thanks again for mentioning that you had this :thumbsup:
I have something else you might like to include. Here's a set of voices from Dinosaur Planet, which were on the Star Fox Adventures disc. There's a collection of individual voice clips which make reference to things which aren't in SFA (Willow Grove, Diamond Bay, Randorn, the "Swapstone" instead of Warpstone, cut subquests). There's also a few less relevant files - a few from the final game that were in the same directory, and an earlier version of the SFA Warpstone cutscene using Dinosaur Planet music. http://www.mediafire.com/?mdyynnj2wng
:icon_bigg ray: Awesome! I'll download it & take a look at it. I've got enough new material that I'm going to put together another zip file soon :dance:
So, here's the new zip archive. It has about 70MB of new stuff. Just wanted to point this out, apparently my "dplanet1.mov" video cuts out after 13 seconds >_< So, just copy the video located in "Dinosaur_Planet_Media_New/Movies/". It's the same exact video, just a fully playable video. Again, there's some text files with credits for the carious pieces of media. So, this should be it. Pretty much all of the Dinosaur Planet-related media that's out there on the net. If anyone has anything that is not located in the new zip archive (and the original one that I uploaded) please feel free to shoot me a pm, post it here or just post the link to it. The new zip file is about 80MB. Enjoy! http://www.mediafire.com/?4jynhyxjtd5
Any plans to do an EarthBound 64 Media Archive as well? I've been working on a project of my own as well, and I'd love to get my hands on all the material that I can possibly get.
