    Hello,
This is another discussion that I made. I think this is going to be the best one.

Well here we have the most awesome video game console, the NES. What is your favorite game on NES, favorite memory as a kid with the NES, Most expensive game, Problems with NES. Everything about the NES. My favorite game is Little Samson and I played it on an emulator. Too bad it's not that popular and it's really expensive. I really like that game. Also I just got an NES and I can't wait until I get so many NES games.

Favorite NES game, is hard to say. It's one of my favorite consoles and has a lot of gems. I really like Super Mario 3, Contra, Panic Restaurant, New Ghostbusters 2, Kirby's Adventure, Legend of Zelda, Shadows of the Ninja. i haven't had a problem with my NES once I replaced the pin connector with a new one from Nintendo (back in the early 2000's they would just mail you a free replacement if you called and asked), and disabled the lockout chip.

I want to get a NES sometime soon. I have so many fond memories of that machine. I remember pouring hours of my life into Gauntlet 2, and absolutely adored Snake, Rattle n' Roll. The NES version of SRnR was far better than the Mega Drive version.

My first ever game machine (except for an Amstrad CPC 464), got one for Christmas '89 with Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt and Gremlins 2. Probably the best-remembered Christmas!

It's getting prohibitivly expensive to collect for. Even low level titles are out of control. I'm going to wait until the Hipsters grow up get married sell their shit off and the Retro bubble bursts. THEN I shall collect LIKE A KING!

Yea, but you can get cheap games at antique stores, flea markets or the goodwill. Also I think the hipster kids are going to collect haha.

Eventually it'll be too mainstream to collect NES games.

I'm hoping the hipsters migrate to the Virtual Boy. They can have it.

    Game.com too.

I just don't care anymore. I'll emulate. I REALLY wanted a Famicom but It's way too much of a hassle to find the right Famicom, buy it OH then I have games to worry about....

I'm just going to make a custom NESTER DC Disc.

I was in middle school when the system came out. This was after the console game crash and low cost gaming pcs were really big in the US. That's what we had at home. At school, a kid came in one day (this is pre launch) and said "I'm getting the Rob I can't wait!" So it wasn't even considered the NES to alot of kids when it came out. They knew it for ROB.

I never got one because the graphics weren't that big of an upgrade to the Commodore 64 I had. Alot of the launch games were arcade ports like Popeye which I had already. Super Mario Bros was the standout. At that point though I really wanted an Amiga. But the entire country went crazy for NES. Later I went back and played some of the more classic games. I wish I had the Rolling Thunder Tengen port as a kid. It was actually better then what Amiga got with its 32 bits of power. It played well and actually had some different gameplay to the arcade.

I really hate myself for throwing out my old NES carts. they were all mint and if I just waited 3 more years I'd have made a fortune on them.

Ah! That is a shame. Least we know you're not part of the hipster crowd.

I adored my NES back in the day. I'd put it as my 4th favorite console. I remember playing Blades of Steel all the time. That is still my favorite hockey game and probably one of my favorite sports game besides NFL Blitz. Not a big sports game fan overall.

Favorite game? I'd go with Super Mario Bros. 3. Can't say I've played an NES game more than that one. Alien Syndrome is also awesome, and I personally like Home Alone even though it is of poor quality. Can't forget Tetris or Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! either.

Do you even want to know what I threw out? *Deep breath* Mega Man 2-4, Mario 1-3, Castlevania 3, Ninja Gaiden, Bayou Billy, Air Fortress, and 2 tengen carts, Toobin and Rolling Thunder. SIGH I have never forgiven myself. That's just NES. There were SNES and Master System carts in that trash bag too :(

You're breaking my heart right now. That is really depressing. At least you have emulation, but there's just something about popping the carts into a NES. Also I forgot Toobin! I used to love that game as well. Don't think there's been a similarly made game since.

I'm reading your posts in Louise's voice :p Yeah I do still have emulation, the Dreamcast makes a great NES clone with the right controller. I use a no VMU Total control PS2 converter and a Mad Catz Retrocon controller which is AWESOME.

As you should! Haha, I can do an okay impression of her voice. Better at Bob and Linda. I also use one of my DCs for that. I have a CD-r with a mess load of NES games. One of these days I want to play through all of them. I've only gone through a small fraction of them.

We probably have the same disc. The way its set up is a bit clunky. Takes way too long to cycle through the games. Gotta favorite them. I miss my old NES. Probably going to rebuy one if I find it for cheap.

I've never been that into the NES, although I do have one. I was born too late to get to experience it. I grew up with the Genesis, so for me that's the earliest console I can still really appreciate - and even the Genesis was near the end of its life by the time I got mine. There are a few NES games I enjoy, but it just doesn't have the same appeal that Genesis and later consoles have for me, maybe just because there isn't any nostalgia attached to it. There's also the issue of no native RGB output capability without a mod. I'd like to have my NES RGB modded at some point, but right now it just isn't a priority. Oddly enough, even though I'm not a big fan of the NES, I do love the Game Boy - maybe because there is nostalgia associated with that piece of hardware.

I have a couple extra ones, one without a top (there was a time when I decided to buy lots of stuff to resell).

Agreed, I got my Genesis in 94-95, and I've never fallen for the NES. I can enjoy the Master System, if mine worked properly.

I am the exact same way even down to enjoying gameboy releases over nes. I even sought out a gameboy lite and gameboy color for my collection. The genesis and that whole 16 bit era is just timeless. That system had such a variety of games, probably one of the best library's ever.
