Hopefully this guide will help some people... :)

If anyone wonders: The Partner N64 debugger actually requires a modified KMC N64 to even start. It's not like the SN64 kit which can be used on a retail N64.

Kammedo helped me for hours, with quite an extensive troubleshooting process, to get my Partner N64 kit up and running. We checked the ISA card, BIOS settings, Windows settings, Partner software... We checked the cable connection pin by pin, we cleaned the cart, replaced the CIC, replaced the SIMM RAM etc etc .... It turned out I had been scammed! My N64 was not a KMC N64 after all... So we had to fix that ;)

If it's a scam, you know what to do :D
How about the PC interface and Partner N64 cart? Got those as well?

no, but there are ways to check it by opening it and comparing to a retail n64 , no? Also, wouldn't the serial number/warning stickers differ?

If you just remove the plastic top, the wire going to the cart connector (to PI pin 46 - from the reset button) should be easy to see. :)

We have to ask Kammedo about the serial number / warning stickers. Mine had a sticker saying "Modified for Partner N64 and IS Viewer" or something like that, don't know if that was fake as well, hehehe....

The KMC of mine has a sticker on it (in japanese), no special stickers / serial numbers...it really looks like a plain retail N64 (even from the box).
