Hey all. I have a DMG Game Boy with missing vertical pixels. I've already fixed a similar problem on another GB by running a soldering iron below the screen, however this one has several bars that will not return regardless how long I heat it up.

If I press hard right below the screen the bars will return, only to disappear. I've held the soldering iron to the connector for a long time to be sure.

Is there another way of reflowing the connections? Can I peel back the mylar (or whatever the ribbon cable is made of)? Thank you!

It sounds like it just needs to be reflowed. Especially if you put pressure in the area and it makes the connection and the vertical bars appear

No matter how much heat, pressure, and time I apply to the screen, the bars immediately disappear. I've reflowed other very stubborn sections of the screen, and this section is different. If I could see the actual connections behind the mylar I think I'd have a better shot, but I have no idea how to access them. If I get desperate, I may just experiment by cutting away the mylar or trying to peel it back.
