I recently fixed a PS2 that was giving to me, and I noticed the "Run Diagnosis" setting under the where you go to change the disk speed and texture mapping, is this normal? It doesn't say anything about Debug on the Sticker on the back or on the case. So, what do I have?

What "Diagnosis" do is tell the DVD drive to perform a laser power test and self calibration one time while it attempts to launch whatever disc is on the drive. That's not saved and you need to enable it every time you want it to happen.

On "V1" and "V2" SCPH-3000x units, there is a additional "paralax" adjust attempt as these units come equipped with an "automatic tilt adjust motor".

So, When I ran Persona 3, it took a bit to load, was that because of the test?

Does it do it every time you load Persona 3 or does it only do it after the diagnosis is run?

It only did it when I ran diagnosis. It took around maybe 15 seconds to load.
