Although my current financial situation as a fulltime student doesn't allow me to make much progress, I have a never-ending list of games I want to buy (ignoring the utopian goal of completing some system libraries). My current list encompasses around 750 titles, and these are not even randomly added such as "All shooters for system X" or "All SNK fighters"... no no, all hand-picked games I find interesting, for a vast arrange of platforms. I am also still missing hundreds which I found too obvious of a must-have, like Mario or Gradius games, as well as titles which I would buy only if I was given the chance (e.g. very rare but useless Sega saturn titles). Many of the titles in my list are in the $50+ segment with some outliers going as high as $1000! On the one hand it's nice to see that I am making certain progress. But then again, I am literally adding 10 more games for every game I cross off! Lol It's a never-ending endeavor. A brief calculation showed that my current list encompasses games worth approximately $24,000. So... at least until I earn those $24k, I won't finish. haha.
Yeah, I have one for my Clock Tower/DEMENTO collection. Thankfully, it's fairly small but occasionally new items get added onto the list if or when I find out about something new like other builds of particular titles. Sadly the majority of my list isn't retail and is more towards either promotional or development-related which makes the odds of obtaining and estimating the price on them quite a bit more difficult. >_<;
No shopping list here apart from a few must have titles. I like to browse thestore shelf to see what grabs my attention. These days I'm mostly looking at SFC and PS2 since I have pretty much everything of interest for the Saturn, Dreamcast, Mega Drive and Mega CD.
I don't have it written down anywhere, but I have a mental list of games I want for certain systems. In some cases, those lists were fairly long, but over time they've dwindled to the point that there are only a few left that I think are worth owning. For example, I've collected for N64 for years, and I've accumulated quite a few games over time. Although I think the N64 is a great console, the total number of games worth owning (to me, at least) is relatively small. Over time, I've slowly bought nearly every N64 game I've ever wanted or even vaguely considered getting. The only ones left for me are: Zelda: Majora's Mask, Sin and Punishment, and Kirby 64 - and possibly a few others if they were very cheap. On other systems are similar, but in some cases there are longer lists - in part because I haven't played those systems as much as others. Here's what it comes down to to me: I've learned over time that almost every system has a shit ton of terrible games. Even the best systems have lots of them. So the idea of owning a complete set of a certain system seems ridiculous to me; why would you want to own a bunch of shitty games? I've decided that even if I had unlimited funds, I still would only buy the games that look worthwhile. So given that, and given that I already have a relatively large collection, my wants are pretty limited. I could survive for eons just on the games I already have.
Yes, It's pretty small and composed of both games and other related things. But I would rather just buy something interesting when it comes up, occasionally, instead of constantly searching for stuff which begins appearing in my dreams. :S
:friendly_wink: YES! a VERY specific list! all i care about is restoring my a1200 back up to spec... (clue is in the username that's consistent wherever i'm locked up at) i'm looking for a trapdoor expansion card 'ATI/ppc mcu-68060/80 64/128m with fpu' as mine has burnt out a long time ago! all the tech in between is a PURE distraction and FAILS to measure up in the end! an a3000 with all trim would make my life also! (high-end a1200 expansion card or fully fledged a3000 desktop computer? ANY will do!) ... hell, even a cd32 with the 'SX-32 PRO' or 'SX-1' outfitted would be a fantastic start. (may have to create a buy request thread for something when i'm comfortable with online trading and handling UI's)
I have an amazon wishlist of all the games i want to buy for all my systems. i'm picking off at them bit by bit.
I do have a checklist, with names all of future releases i plan on buying and also some already released / old stuff i still need to buy. Nothing big like 750 titles, but around 30 or 40. PS: I gave up doing lists for retro stuff because here in Brazil everything suddenly became "RARE OMG" with insane prices.
Yes I have too. A neverending damn list. At first it was 100 maximum. But as the collection grows, so do the wish list lol. So 100 for wishlist is not useful. It's easy to have more than that very rare items and you really need to add more games year by year... But I stick with games that I like. Not unknown games. And I don't really care about the prices because I only buy factory sealed...
I collect when I see a decent price on a game that I would like to own. Although I make well I was brought up to be thrifty and very tight with money so I find it hard sometimes to justify an expense. As of lately I been building a shop a few hundred feet from my house so that I can get around to restoring my 52 chevy 5 window.
I don't have a written list, I just have a few titles I'm always looking for in store. I'm in the process of making a list of all my games, just so I don't end up with duplicates.
I do, but only for systems. And it's depressing to see how many I'm missing Still, I do have a Top10 games for each, which I intend to complete and renew constantly. Knowing me as I do, soon the 10 games limit per system will grow to be 15 and then 20 and so on...
