HELLO,I am a Chinese MEGA DRIVE fan,My English is poor, sorry I want to show my LINGUAPHONE EDUCATION GEAR This machine is very, very rare,I HAVE 8 OF THIS!!!! This is its photo, if you can see: Game screen in TV CD-X(USA) MULTI MEGA(Europe & Asia) LINGUAPHONE EDUCATION GEAR(Japan) O(∩_∩)O~ this is not Sega official But,Linguaphone has made copyright,in Japan LINGUAPHONE EDUCATION GEAR is the Japanese version of the CD-X yes, it is licensed by Sega This is information on the Japanese Web site: http://sky.geocities.jp/deka_sega/md_ntsc_pal.html As is Y40000 *** The same as me -------------------------------------- OVER
Your thread from somewhere else got posted here a week or so back. Nice to see the man himself posting it though!
I've seen these before but only once. Can't remember where though. You have 8 of them...why? Share the love!
Hoarding them to make them rare ;-) lol Thanks for sharing the photos! Very interesting! What did they come with in terms of software? Did they use cartridges at all? Or Mega CD format discs?
Basically the same as the CD-X, so both cartridges and mega cd games can be played. Edit: Oh, software made just for this, I thought you meant just general software. I'm stupid. :/ Thanks for the photos!
We know this but we want to know what format the Linguaphone software used. Did they use Mega Drive cartridge format or Mega CD format?
I guess Mega CD would make sense... plenty of room for audio samples, and even video. Is it possible for a software disc to have CD audio, so it could also be used as a portable CD player?
Not to mention the horrendous price of silicon compared to the relatively cheap price of pressing a CD.
Oh, my Buddha... I found it in Japanese YAHOO The price is amazing,170000yen... Japan has many good products, I really wish I were Japanese
The real question is whether they even bothered making software or just used CDDA. Linguaphone are a company that apparently make language training products, so it doesn't take much imagination to guess which they'd choose between CD and cart. That aside, I doubt they'd rebrand a CD-X/Multi Mega and then not make use of the CD drive.
Yeah, they must have made software otherwise why bother with something as expensive as the Multimega? I'd love to know what they made for it. What ever it was you know it will be crap but still.... Yakumo
If Sega had leftover stock and Linguaphone only wanted a small order it's feasible. I agree, though, it's more likely that they made some kind of interactive educational software for it, and that would be interesting to see. It's also possible that they planned to make software but never actually did.
