    Hi Friendssssss !!!!

    ok I have a problem with a Doctor V64jr 256 mb.... doesn't work....
For my error, I have burn the Chip Altera MAX :-(

My question is, if I buy the new chip Altera, I can program?

After a while I got the 'USB Blaster, and after downloading 2.7 GB of Altera SW I started to connect everything to my Doctor V64 ...

    SW used:
Quartus II Web Edition Software Version 11.0 for Windows

    HW used:
    USB BLASTER

As you will see photos from the recognition of the device is OK, and sees well my Doctor V64, the question now is how do I take the code inside the chip and place it on a new chip?

Save option is not there, something wrong?

I have contact the Altera Support for this problem, but the respons is:
    ----------------------------------------
    " Hi Federico,
while the project you are doing is interesting, but I can't get your question clearly. what do you mean by transfering the chip contents to another one? which chip you are referring to? if you mean MAX device, the contents was locked inside the device and there is no way you can retreived this data.

    regards,
    Farabi "
    ----------------------------------------
finally I can't get the code inside the Doctor V64 chip... ...

    ideas?????

    thanks.

Well if you've corrupted the chip... then my common sense tell me that there's not data to retrieve...

But I'm most likely wrong, hope it works out for you.

Maybe someone by the name of Barry Chan at *cough cough erh* http://www.gamechoiceclub.com/ could help you with the software as he had "connections" to Bung back in the day :)

    Good luck

I'm doubtful that the code would be cross-hw compatible

icotech, what you aren't understanding is this. The chip you have to program, has PROTECTION features. When Bung programmed it, they DIDN'T WANT anyone else to be able to copy it and then produce and sell their own V64JR. So it's fuse map is protected. You cannot read it out normally. It may be possible somehow to retrieve it but it would be a very involved process beyond most people's abilities I'm sure.

Your best bet is finding someone that already has the fusemap/binary or an alternative version so you can program that onto it. You won't be able to copy your working V64JR chip.

What about the PV-Backup device? It looks like a V64jr clone:

Yes I think that a unique solution is load a custom "fusemap" ....

I see the V64jr clone (PV-Backup), but there are many files and I do not know which to load ....

    :-(

PLD Binary is what you'd put into some programmable logic device.
