Hey guys , i just got my hands on a Dr V64jr. 512mb.
Ive tried to send a rom file to the v64jr. using wJrWrite and it seems to work fine , but when i plug it into the n64 i get a black screen . i dont have any games cartridge . should i have one plugged in the back of the doctor in order to make the rom load ?

    Thanks!

You must have a cart plugged in the back with the same boot CIC as the rom you are trying to load. This goes for savetype too as the game from the rom is saved onto the cartridge you have plugged in. You can also use patches to boot games with other CIC's that you don't have carts for.

isnt there a way to use a boot emulator with out any cartridge? or even when using bootemulators , cartridge still need to be plugged at the back of the doctor ?

Yes, because as far as I can tell, the v64jr itself doesn't have a cic security chip included, so for even making the n64 boot you are going to need one!
