On Tuesday 4th May there will be a documentary on Rockstar's Vice City on BBC 1 Scotland....at 10.35 pm.....(check exact times - but that's what it just said on the advert) Seems some US folk are sue'ing the publisher/developers for inciting murderous tendancies in folk in the US...... (Some Americans have just lost the plot IMHO....) And while I'm hear I love all the other americans who don't want to sue Rockstar! Only been to USA once.....a trip to Chicago for 3 days (work trip) but it was absolutely fabulous!!!!....(even though I mostly saw the inside of rooms)......love american lorries...sorry...I'm blabbling now...
Some people here treat the courts like a lottery...a chance for free money...but the rest of us know that they're morons. Anyone remember the people who tried to sue McDonalds for making them fat? Haha!
Re: Suing This reminds me something that Grand Theft Auto III makes fun about: - Commercial " Sue Your Boss ": Male Voice: "Is your job affecting your health? Do you become fatigued? Does working take time away from family and social events like watching wrestling? There's an easy solution! Sue your boss!! See, the great thing about this country is you can sue anyone for pretty much anything! And you'll probably win! Or at least get a settlement. At the firm of Rakin and Ponzer personal injury attorneys, we can show you how falling down and howling like a sissy can result in a large damage award from your employer. We also specialize in awards for injuries suffered in auto, bus and train accidents! And can even train you to throw yourself in front of a bus and pretend to be injured. Hey, that's why they pay for insurance! Call the law offices of Rakin and Ponzer, and get ready to enjoy a life of luxury!" :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043 :smt043
Rockstar is being sued for $100 million dollars because two asshole kids got on the highway and started pulling drive-bys then said they wanted to recreate scenes from Grand Theft Auto when they got caught. It doesn’t have a chance in hell of winning and is basically publicity for some ambulance chaser. The same thing happened after Columbine. Lawyers like this who waste the courts time need to be disbarred. These kinds of lawyers are only one part of the problem though. The real problem in the United States today is that there is no personal responsibility anymore. It is never any ones fault and always the fault of some inanimate object. It's not the fault of those two kids because they're idiots who can't tell right from wrong so it must be the game. Their poor minds were corrupted by this game so the developers need to pay. The other reason it's never the actual persons fault is purely money. Why sue the guy who shoots up an office building. Chances are he's broke. The gun maker though has got plenty so we'll just sue them. Afterall they have liability insurance so they're the better chance to hit the jackpot. This has become such a problem in the US that good doctors are quitting in droves because they no longer can afford the insurance premiums. Sorry about the rant but when I read about this kind crap it just gets me livid.
