does ANY site sell cases for ps3 ?

im starting to belive that the answer is no.

so the deal is that i bought my ps3 second hand since the 60 Gb models went out of sales and only way to get one was to buy it second hand.

the rig i got was a demo console on a huge store before i got it so needless to say the case looks like the poor console has been hit by a train now. It's so full of scratches that it's not even funny anymore.

i don't mind the scratches alone but i'd like to get a new case for it for that and to be able to use the old scratched case to od a casemod too.

few days of google only prought me up few sites selling faceplates only and only store i found selling black faceplates was superufo.com and they were out of stock too.

checked ebay and those few sellers that sold cases from broken consoles and would ship to finland, all either had cases in worse condition than mine or then asked some pretty ridiculous prices from then (with 45$ shipping it would be just cheaper to buy a new ps3.)

so, does anyone know IF there even is a place that sells either the official case parts or third party cases (do third party full cases even exist?) and would it be possible to even contact sony to ask if they sell them ?

 

as mentioned, haven't been too lucky on locating one in reasonable condition or reasonable price yet but im on that as we speak

on that matter... you said you did that, so do you still have your old case ?

unless its' totally broken it's most likely in way better shape than mine, so it would propably suit my needs. Care to sell it ?

 

At worst buy the cheapest playstation you can on ebay in a good condition. Then swap the cases and put it back on ebay. Likely only to lose abit and prob less then a new case + postage.

 

that would be an option too unless i'd want to keep the old case too.
the scratches on it are just the second reason i want a new one, the first is my need of a spare to mod it.

i'd keep the better condition one as is and the damaged one i'd paint pink

 

Hmm,what about a PS3 Face Cover or maybe a PS3 Skin.

 

not an option, i've never been a fan of those sticker skins, they looks so cheap and bad to me. Protective film is also uselss now since the case is already damaged and I don't want to get those "bag" or whatever things that hide the console, it looks nice and im trying to keep it that way.

im also trying to preserve the original shell since it's likely that i will sell the console later so modding the only shell i have is out of the question. Im sure not too many people want to get a shabby pink ps3 (or whatever color i'll paint it)

I guess i'll just keep an eye on eBay for now and wait for some third party to start selling cases.
That's unless ASSEMbler wants to part from his old one
