Im looking for a mp3 to wav batch converter that can handle multiple files at the same time. Like if I drop 10 mp3s in it will convert them in one process.

I have a Sonic CD game I downloaded to test out my new newly repairded SegaCD but the audio files have all been converted into mp3s to save space. Im assuming in order for real hardware to read them I will have to convert them back beforehand?

Does anyone have a simple (and hopefully free) program that can do this? If so please let me know and thanks!

EDIT: LOL :p I ment batch in the title and I left out the c. If a mod could please fix this for me I would o so happy :)

Winamp can most likely do this. Just create a play list, and set the output to that Wave output shit it's had since version 1.0. Press play, then go do something for 10 minutes.

I personally like dBPowerAmp, it can natively work with mp3 and wav files and works with almost any other audio format by plugins that you can download in the program's homepage. It's extremely easy to use (select a bunch of files --> right click them --> Convert to... --> start --> Done!), supports multi-CPU encoding (which increases conversion speed a lot) and is really versatile.

BTW, as far as I know the Sega CD won't read the files if you just put them on wav format with the game files in the data cd, you'll need to make an audio/data disc, burning the game files in the data track and each mp3 file on an audio track, otherwise you won't hear anything...

I've done this before with Winamp. Pretty nifty, I used it to changed Playstation music to waves and then into MP3s.

I, too, recommend dBPowerAmp. However, I'd suggest you get a hold of Version 9 as it has the old mp3 license that doesn't expire in the newer versions and all the latest plugins still work with that version.

It can convert almost all the known file extensions out there.
