I was wondering if anyone on here knows of any stores left in Pennsylvania that still carry classic games? Back a couple years ago when Funcoland was still it's own company and actually catered to classic gamers, I used to spend so much time there. I even used to be able to pick up old Genesis games at Babbages back then. Nowadays, everyone caters to the modern systems without paying respect to their roots, so I feel that I am stuck going through online sites and eBay. I really wish I knew of a store still that I could just go to and browse through bins of old games like I used to at Funcoland.
Mistake on the Lake Well it's damn far away but in Erie (my hometown) there's a small chain of stores called Endless Entertainment. They have an excellent selection of games from EVERY system as well as a few imports, and they don't even gouge on them - I typically found the prices to be the average eBay prices without having to pay shipping. Not bad for a brick-and-mortar store. ~Krelian
I didn't have much luck when I lived in PA...but...I'd just recommend opening a phone book and look for video game stores that aren't owned by a big company. Theres bound to be something decent within an hour of you.
Sweet. Next time I am up that way I will definitely have to stop by with a wad of cash and clear them out some
Thats pretty much the problem around me. We have at least 20 game stores within a half hour, but they are all big chains like Babbages, EB, GameStop, etc. Ill have to look through the yellow pages online though and see if I can find any non chain stores that aren't too much of a drive away. I'd be willing to drive a bit just to not have to deal with eBay crap and having my stuff shipped.
Some GameCrazy stores, not all, have ALOT of really old, good stuff. They're always worth a visit if you see one.
I just checked out their webpage and they don't have any right near me, but there are FIVE of them in the Philly area. Definitely will have to hit them up next time I'm near Philly.... or else make an afternoon of it. Philly is only about an hour drive for me so it wouldn't be too bad, especially if I buy a lot of stuff. The savings in shipping costs would probably far outweigh the gas I spent driving down.
