Don't come into this thread,it's a trap to inherently waste your time! YO ADMNIS! We can probably close this thread, I opened it, got "ripped on" by some dudes and found out the answer on my own. Anywho, if you wanna keep it open, that's cool too. Does anyone know if a ROM exists of the unreleased beta of Conker's Quest/12 Tales? I saw on Wikipedia that they were working on a Conker sequel and I wasn't sure if RARE ever sold iit off and dumped into a ROM or not. So it got me to thinking, what better place to go and ask than the fine folks over at assemblergames. It would be fun to mess with a half complete sequel to one of the raunchiest games to hit the N64!
I'm not sure if you're aware, but Conker's Quest/12 Tales is NOT a sequel to Bad Fur Day, it's what the game was before they made it raunchy. Supposedly Rare cancelled it because of the feedback for "another cute platformer" for the N64. If anyone might have it, it could be the guy who uploaded 30 minutes of footage to youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6ceNFV2yz4
Like sonicsean89 says, Twelve Tales was not a (planned) sequel to Conker's Bad Fur Day, Twelve tales was the game that was originally going to be made, but was abandoned, and Rare instead made CBFD. The planned (but sadly abandoned) sequel to CBFD was Conker's Other Bad Day, which starts out with Conker in prison, as he'd been rejected as king and imprisoned by his subjects, since he'd spent all of their money on beer and other stuff! It could have been great, but since Rare are now owned by Microsoft, who seem to want them to just do motion controlled games (especially games for all the family) it doesn't look like we'll ever see COBD, sadly. Are the people who worked on CBFD even still at Rare any more? Some of them talk about CBFD here at http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFP9r6vJL2qCCERMBP_ZWUEV0vaSL4rHf (and it's really interesting), but I can't remember if they mention still working at Rare or not.
Could you have chosen a more vague, ambiguous title for your thread? You might as well have called it "Something" or "Thread".
^This Pisses me off too, but then again users who do make threads with these titles get a whipping by the community and makes them look like tools.
I did it intentionally to lure you in. Of course, I gave a hint with the N64 icon, and that's what really brought you here. Goddamnit that's a good console.
You wanted to lure us in... so you could make a request for a ROM of an unreleased game? That's like saying, "Oh boy, guess what... I have a BIG surprise for you... what could it be... here we go... can I have 5 bucks?"
The N64 is great, and it still has some of the best games of all time; Super Mario 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, Banjo Tooie, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (according to Gamerankings, it's the second highest rated game of all time), Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask (winner of the users poll of Gamefaqs best game of 2000 - 2010, which was surprising since Loz:MM isn't nearly as well known as LoZ:OoT), etc.
N64 is the console I have the most original games for, something like 40 carts, though I'm thinking of purging and buying an Everdrive. Always's thought of Conker as a gimmicky sort of game, I started playing the XBOX port and lost interest fast.
I didn't ask for the ROM. My question was to whether or not it existed. I can find ROMS on my own, but that's why I asked you guys who know more than me if it even exists. Because if not, I'm not gonna go on a internet wild goose chase. If you really wanted to upset me, you should've told me it existed and then sent me to bogus sites to find it. Insulting my thread title is hardly anything that is going to make me change my ways. Anyway, we can close this thread.
Conker was amazing when it came out on the n64. Its tone, graphics, animation, levels, music, every line of dialogue is fully voiced with lip syncing, and cut scenes were top tier for that entire generation. It even had a variety of fun local multiplayer modes. Didn't use the expansion pak either. BFD is one of my favorite games of all time, would have loved a true sequel on the xbox instead of a remake. The xbox version was okay, but the online is shut off now and they censored stuff for some reason.
I've been to this thread four or five times now. I don't mind, I am waiting for video to upload I remember the N64 as being one of the consoles I was able to run emulators for (albeit poorly). Oh seeing that giant Mario head following that star with epic jaggies or perhaps the chaos that was Cruis'n USA. I can remember the whole road just turning into garbled rubbish - they were great times to own a PC
