I would like to know,if anyone played the Doom 4 Alpha?? i played it and it sucked..its to much unreal tournament...what do you guys think about it??if needed,i got some screens.....and videos.... http://play-the-games.com/?p=4102
I'm still waiting. I bought WOLF New order partly to get the code.... still waiting What are the fancy finisher moves like (the ones they showed at E3 wher you rip off heads and junk)? I have a feeling that they'll get very repetitive, like in other games that use a similar concept..
If the video is yours either you: a) suck and this would explain why don't like the game b) are just playing badly for some other reason
yes,i totally suck at this game...it was more like an experience for me..normally i a not that bad at shooter games, but on doom 4...lol.....shame on me...
alpha should b down since a week now,but its still possible to search a game...to bad that noone else is playing it.....
Wish I was selected to play the Alpha, also waiting on the Beta testing phase myself as I purchased Wolfenstein early on. I'm honestly looking forward to this game, check out the trailer if you haven't.
As a big DOOM fan, I personally can't wait for the game. Unfortunately I didn't have a PS4 or a good PC when Wolf was announced so I didn't jump on the pre-order. Money being tight at the time certainly didn't help. I'm more for single player DOOM, so I'm not too crazy disappointed. I'll check out that video later.
Let's just hope it won't be as dissapointing as Doom 3 was after the e3 demo leaked. The demo had a different atmosphere to it. More dynamic and fluid environments. The final game was nice, but not by doom standards. Also wolf 2009 was a dissapointment too, unlike rtcw.
I actually absolutely love DOOM3. I've played through OG XBOX version at least 3 times and the 360 BFG edition twice. Working on my first PC play through with Absolute HD mod. I thought DOOM3 served as a fine sequel. The only negative aspects for me were the linearity and closed-in environments, but the engine necessitated both of those aspects.
Personally, I preferred it when Doom was colorful and 90s cheesy as hell. 3 made it just another boring dark FPS series, and the new one seems to be more of the same. I mean, without the logo in the trailer my first thought would be "There's another Resistance game coming out?" or "They're making a first person Gears of War?"
It didn't really strike me as similar to 3. The movement was faster, there were more enemies on screen at once, your flashlight wasn't necessary at all, you had a good vertical leap with a double jump, etc. If anything I would agree that it seemed more like Unreal Tournament or maybe Quake. To each their own, I guess. With first person shooters becoming more and more disappointing to me, I'll pretty much always stick with DOOM and to a larger extent, id software.
I was speaking purely about aesthetics. The gameplay actually looks pretty interesting, it's just a shame all the character and weapon designs are so generic.
Ohh, okay. I will agree with that. While the graphical fidelity looks really good, it doesn't have the same charm DOOM I and II had or the raw, mechanical look that 3 had. I'm hoping some of that gets tweaked, but I doubt it. At least Hell looked halfway decent. While I do agree that he will be missed, he usually just handled the tech side of things. I don't know how much he had a play in the creative side of things, especially later one. I'm just happy his work on id Tech 6 was done before he left. Although his departure was inevitable, it's still a bit disappointing. Then again, a lot of different original members left a bit ago.
If i will buy doom 4,i definetly wont play the multiplayer.... Btw,dunno why,but the alpha is still Running...should be over since a Week, but its still possible to search a match

Huge Doom fan, but not too stoked about 4. Trailers made it look meelee-heavy (scripted takedown sequences, no thank you, those get boring fast, and the single player arenas look kinda small too. I mean, I'm definitely going to play it (hey, it's Doom after all), eventually - It just doesn't look like a day one purchase to me right now.
