does it exists a snes clone that have 50/60hz switch, region free, with 110-220v Power? or else and how much would cost to have a standard snes modded like this? and would it be possible at all? thanks for your answers, karsten ps i guess this is the right place, but if it is not please move this topic.
You mean, to play american and euro games right? Dunno, but sounds like something that may be rare and expensive. How about getting a US Snes and a NTSC tv? it should be a lot easier to find those.
He is looking for a clone, it wouldn't be expensive. And yes, there IS one clone that's region free, I saw it last year somwhere.
Theres something I dont get from those snes clones: where the hell do they get the sony sound chip from? did they copy that one too?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FC_Twin_Video_Game_System That seems to be the closest you'll get. It seems some use different revisions of the clone APU and so have different sound compatibility.
nice, really! but it is strictly 60hz, right? anyway, really not bad! anyone have extra infos about it?
The best way would be to mod a system yourself. It's not too hard and there is plenty of information on the 'net. It would make for quite a fun project and you can pick SNES units up fairly cheaply these days. One tip: try to buy a US system - that will make things easier. Alternatively I can recommend Raven Games, bit pricey but they have been around for a long time and they guarantee their work: http://www.ravengames.co.uk/conversions.htm
thanks a lot, but i never solded anything in my life and my snes is sadly PAL i'd like to try but i have just my snes to destroy and raven games ARE INSANE in their prices!
They are high, yeah. http://www.consolepassion.co.uk/modification.htm might be an alternative, but I have never used them myself so I can't recommend them personally. Either that or try ebaying, they appear on ebay from time to time and you can sometimes get a good deal (http://cgi.ebay.com/Super-NES-Console-with-50-60Hz-Switch-and-Region-Switch_W0QQitemZ270082301084QQihZ017QQcategoryZ3594QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item270082301084) << this is nothing to do with me (I am not the seller, I just googled it, I'm just trying to help out so please don't beat me up Paulo). The process for modding the SNES is not that bad, nothing compared to a PSOne or PS2 for instance and it's actually quite fun! Your best bet, if you are concerned, is to buy a cheap PAL unit on ebay and trial run it. The reason I say a US machine is best is that it is relatively simple to convert it to fit all cart types, you just cut the tabs off and then work on the internal modifications. With a PAL unit you have to cut into the case or use a pass-through converter, which are harder to find these days than they were a few years ago. Anyway, you could do these modifications without experience. F*ck! it already ended not , this is bad... i'll check if i can find an expendable snes and try those solderings.... by the way, no guide to make snes output rgb?
Modded snes machines that do this are pretty common among the gaming community in the uk, if you register for an account and look here you'll see: A SNES modded to play any region games (although the shape of the cart slot will need to be modified to accept US games), with a 50/60hz switch and modded to output via s-video and RGB scart. He's also throwing in StreetFighter 2 (Jap), a SuperGameboy, a Universal Adaptor to get the US games to play without modding the slot and 2 Pads. All that is selling for £35 which is about €53 not including P&P. Such sales are reasonable common on that and other uk based websites with a tendancy toward import and retro gaming. Hope this helps.
Yeah, I modded one of my SNES spares totally. Cut the hole for US carts. I thought it looked awful - but most of my friends didn't even notice at first glance!!!
