I am not good in these stuff. I figure that i probably can ask them here. I wanna get a domain. maybe something.com, .com.sg, .sg. How do i get it? Any reputed place to get it done? How much this cost on an average per year and stuff? Does it mean if i get it, it will belong to me like forever till i cease paying? What abt emails? like tzeman@"watever name.com? (just an example, hope you guys get wat i mean). And also can the name be trademark? Any idea how it works and the cost? Lets hope if everything is ok, i can give people here to design a blog, website for me and a logo. (I'll pay of coz). Thanks a million..
go to something like www.enom.com or registerfly (not actually suggesting any of those, they just come off the top of my head) but stay clear of GoDaddy.
When you register a domain name, you can usually choose how long you want it for. Most registrars will allow you to add you own email address, and forward mail on to an existing email address. You'll also need hosting in order to upload your website. Pricing depends on webspace, bandwidth limits, etc. For a simple blog you may need PHP and MySQL support.
Find some decent webspace hoster, they usually take care of the domain registration as well, but with a full webspace hosting you also got everything you need for email, websites (blogs, w/e) and all that including a nice webfrontend to configure it all. Of course you can trademark your domain/sitename/blogname/dogsname/whatever. Your local patent office will help with that. Dunno about US prices or the such, in Europe it's about 500 EUR (~800 USD) for a "word and logo" trademark.
can i like just register for a domain name just in case its taken? Coz wat i see its still available. Then all these blog,websites n stuff i will add up later when its all set? Thanks.
Any decent registrar should have an easy way to check whether the domain you want is available prior to registration. Just give it a go.
One.com is a great place to get domain names. I know it, because a friend of mine is using that place to get his domain names. And it is bloody cheap too. And as Barc0de said, stay the fuck away from godaddy, and their bullshit.
I was wanting Cyantist.com, Godaddy and others say its taken though. However Cyantist.com redirects to a different website and not cyantist.com
I bought phuck.eu, but my providr was shit so I cancelled the plan, they agred to refund me and I have ben waiting 2 months for it. I had other domains with anothr provided - 1nd1 or schunde.d,whatver they wn tto clal themselves. Thdyw ere a good hos tiwth good prics nd a good system ,if you keep making the payments. I had difficulty laevaing them but pparently the procss has gotten easier now.
i cant find any .com.sg in those websites you guys gave. Was hoping to probably get a .com.sg one coz in living in Singapore. Probably based my stuff there.
