Hi everyone - I hope this is the correct forum to post this in. Quite a few years ago now we picked up a Donkey Kong Jr. Tabletop Game & Watch from a Car Boot (long enough ago that I have no idea how much we paid for it). As far as I remember, it turned out the batteries would cost more than we paid for the unit, and since my dad was strapped for cash we never ended up ever using it and it sat in a cupboard for years. I found it again recently and was curious to see if it worked so I picked up some batteries for it, and surprisingly after some initial hiccups with the system (I think it was going buggy simply from now being powered up for so long) it works perfectly! I looked around for some info on it and discovered they're quite rare, it seems, with them selling for over £100. However, my unit was pretty badly beaten up by whoever we bought it off, so while it still works fine, it has a bunch of cosmetic damage. I'm curious as to if anyone out there could help me value it? I've taken some video of the game working, as well as photos from multiple angles showing the condition of the unit.

I hope this isn't too much to ask, I'd be very grateful if someone could help me value this! :)

It's not in a very nice condition and it looks like it's missing its serial number. Plus it's unboxed. It's not worth much at all.

£100 would be boxed in nice condition. An unboxed one with serial number AND a Grandstand Caveman sold for £26 on eBay recently. However, another loose one without battery cover sold for £50, which I think is crazy. Collectors don't value them without battery cover or serial number.

This, but it's a really nice item to have nonetheless. I'd sit on it for ten years and just carefully enjoy it.

Ah, sorry about placing it in the incorrect area - I didn't notice there was a price check section. I did look around to see if there was any Nintendo focused sub-forum but since I didn't find one, I thought this was the most apporpriate section. My apologies! Thanks for moving it.

It is an interesting item to have and it's quite fun to play even if I'm rubbish at it, I'm just in the need for some cash at the moment and was curious if I could get much for it. I know it's in pretty poor condition but it's hard to actually find one in such bad condition that still actually works. It does have the serial number (I think - is it a silver stick on the bottom?) but it's peeling off. You can see it in the photos of the bottom of the unit. Thanks for the help though everyone. If anyone has a more solid idea of what it's worth, I'm still interested, but if one sold for £26 with another game recently then I might not bother selling it and just keep it. Like I said in the original post, it was dirt cheap at a carboot sale years ago so it's not like I've been ripped off or anything!

I'm kind of new here and lurk a lot so I'd just like to ask something unrelated to this topic - this topic took about 5 days from me posting it to it appearing on the site. I know there's some sort of filtering/screening process for topics and posts by new users to prevent spam, but does anyone know roughly when that screening period ends and I can post normally? I had the same thing happen with most of my posts which is part of the reason I lurk most of the time.
