Well, I own it, and I like it...though I think the music selection isn't spectacular. It's fun though. Be more specific, ask me anything about it....as I don't know what you want to know.

I've only had it a few days (it just came out) so I can't say how fun it is to play in the long term, but considering that I played it for about 3 hours the first night, and still want to play it now, so I guess it's good for a long time.

As for the multiplayer aspect, I've only played two players so far, and I only have on set of Konga Drums. My friend played with the controller, and it did get more fun with two people, and I imagine with all the clapping and drum beating, it would get a lot more fun with more people.

Ah, the challenge...now, this is a bit of an issue...

The easiest "monkey" skill level is absolutely unplayable. It's just so damn easy that I get bored playing it.

The medium "chimp" skill level is the one I've played the most so far. I've gotten a gold medal on all but one song on this mode.

The Hard "gorilla" mode is damn near impossible. I don't know how I'm gonna be able to do any kinda good in this mode.

Uh, I gues either you like it or you hate it. I find myself constantly feeling the desire to play it. One complaint though is that some of the music that's in it is kinda lame. I thought the weird ass kirby song and the pokemon song were totally unnecessary. In addition, there were some other songs that i really didn't like.

I really like the game a lot, but theres a few things that hurt it.

Oh, they japanese and american versions aren't the same at all. From what I hear, the Japanese one has a ton of J-Pop, nintendo stuff, and then some other western stuff.

The US version has no Britney Spears...er...then i don't know what she sounds like anyway, but it's a variety, but generally they're fun to play. Though I can't stand the Kirby one, the Pokemon one, and "Like Wow" They each suck hardcore.

  7. I picked up Donkey Konga from a friend for some extended borrowing, and I'd say you should definately try to rent or play it for a while in some capcity before deciding to buy it. I personally find it a lot of fun, but I'm not sure if it's something that I'd keep playing for a long time.

I think I'm gonna have to buy another Drum, as I think it would be wicked fun with a ton of em.

Brilliant game, not quite Samba De Amigo quality, but brilliant nonetheless. I can't play it on anything other than hard mode to be honest. Can't wait for the PAL release next week!

Does anyone have the track listing for the US version? if its different again to the JPN and PAL release, I will have to get the US one as well!

That's a list of all of the tracks and in which versions they appear.

The European one is similar to the US one, so you'd only get a few different songs, so I think your best bet would be to buy one of the Japanese ones with another set of Kongas...

...I might do that myself, but I found out that the freeloader disc is another 20 bucks on top of the 54 at lik sang for the japanese one w/konga drum...and with shipping and all...that's gonna get expensive. On top of that, I don't really know what else I'd use freeloader for...

Actually I already have the Donkey Konga 1&2 boxset with the Tarutonga controller!

Looking at the track listing, it may just be different enough to warrant buying the US version as well! ;-) but thats not fanboy-ish... its... urm... making sure I experience the full gamut of tunes to make an informed decision on the quality of the game! :smt045

What would be the point if you've already bought every version in existence? ;-) :smt043

How are the Japanese versions of Donkey Konga 1 and 2?

I know there's a lot of J-Pop in it, but I don't really know enough about J-pop in general to make a decision about whether or not I would like it.

1 and 2 are great (well 2 at least, 1 is a bit mediocre)

To be honest, the J-Pop issue doesn't come into it, how many people knew every single song on Samba de Amigo before playing it? probably not many!

While you don't have a clue what tune was from what advert, they are enjoyable little tunes in their own right, and go well with the style of gameplay. The Naruto theme tune in particular (moving away from J-Pop) is great in this game, not having seen any Naruto doesn't spoil it for me at all.

If it's anywhere like Taiko no Tatsujin (which apparently is the case) it'll be a load of fun... ask my mate who played at least 10 rounds a day, while we were in Japan :smt030
