Saw the directors cut of donnie darko today and i must say its a must to see. It makes things flow alot smoother and it makes alot more sense, it looks great on the big screen. Anyone else who saw the original i highlly reccomend checking out the directors cut.

I've heard that this version gets rid of 'The Killing Moon' from the opening sequence.
Is that right? I simply can't imagine the film without that perfect opening.

I've got the DVD and when you hear the commentaries you'll see that the director doesn't have a clue what he actually ment.Maybe he added some stuff in the directors cut to give it a better sense ;)

To be honest with you, when i went to the panel at comic con he seemed to be saying it means whatever it means to you, but really it seems he wrote just to write. This directors cut is actually suppose to be what orignaly should have been, such as setting up for the audience that donnie is a hero, but due to the length they had to cut alot of stuff, so this version will make alot more sense to you compared to the original. Also the opening music seemed slightly different, i think they used another 80's song.
