I can go one better than most when it comes to Saturns. My day of Japanese release Saturn is still going strong and has been played an unbelievable amount but that's nothing compared to a Saturn I found in the street up in Tokyo sitting in a puddle of water in the rain. I took it home, cleaned it up and let it dry. Two days later I put it back together and it worked! That was 15 years ago and it's still my main Saturn that I use at least once a week all these years later. That is one hell of a tough beast. Saying that, the original Mega Drive and SFC are rock solid consoles too.
that puddle of water must have been radio active way ahead of time giving your Saturn such longevity~ say~ does that Saturn glow in green at night and sometimes found at the odd place in the house?
The Saturn is hard to kill. Even ones that seem dead is usually just a cap on the PSU. Gotta love the system.
Any serious read about electrolytic capacitors will let you know why they might explode after long periods of storage. That goes with any kind of system using them as components.
