I loved playing KotOR on my XBox, but never got around to acquire XBox Live, so I missed out on the downloadable content, which seemed pretty sweet. Are these extra goodies available on the "Platinum Hits" discs or is there any other way of downloading it, hopefully for both games? Is Live up and running for the original XBox?
Yeah, you can still go on Live for the old Xbox. I have no clue if this game still has the downloads though since I don't have it. If you want, I think I saw the game laying around at my parents house, I can check it out for ya sometime.
Is Xbox live still full price? Getting a Live subscription just to get a new planet on KotOR is a bit overkill, but do try it, that'd be good to know. Otherwise I can get it for the PC, but I much prefer playing it on Xbox.
The downloads are still up but just to point out that the new planet is like a space station on the orignal game which is just a shop and nothing really good to be honest. Not sure about 2 but when I was reading about all the content that was cut from it there was a team that was putting a large amount of the content back including new cut scenes and a new planet if thats what you are thinking. Only pc for that since its classed as a mod.
Yeah I heard there was a droid-planet cut from the sequel, but it looks like I'm going to have to get the PC versions to enjoy the full KotOR experience. No one around here knows if it's the "vanilla" version of the game on the Platinum Hits discs?
Regular Xbox Live is still ucky priced. 50$ a year, so yeah, not worth it for one game. The disc we have is regular. From googling it looks like the platinum hits is the same, but the PC is where the DLC came from I think. I need to play this game sometime, I hear its great.
i want to know how KOTOR III's is going to work as an MMO. what sucked me into the first two games was the story (especially the first game). how do stories in MMOs work?
Yeah the third installment definitively needs the story from the first two games, otherwise it's just Star Wars Galaxies.
