    Hi, I own a DrV64Jr 512mb and i have a problem,
The PC is not even near the n64 console and i can't really move it.
The only cartridge that i have is Super Mario 64 (CIC6102) so until now
the only games that i used to play had a CIC6102 bootcode.
I recently found out that you can change that bootcode and i try to do it myself. I started with extracting the bootcode from a different CIC6102 rom and applying it to different roms which contains different CIC bootcode .
Ive try to upload the modifyed roms to my drv64 but only one of them was able to boot.. Zelda oot. I dont use bootemulator because the device need to be connected to my drv64 and i think that changing the cic is my last resort before ill buy a new PC just for using the drv64.

    Does anyone know why ?

Easier just to get the rom already cracked with a trainer. You can find sets on torrent sites. Or head over to dextrose.com and get the patch. You can run any game with non-6102 bootcodes this way

    which patch ?
On the cracks section all i see as a list of few games not all of them,
Is there a patch or a program like MotetIII that actually works ?
I tried some more games with MotetIII but still no luck .
The only game that i could patch and actually boot up is zelda oot.

Why not just buy the game, they're cheap these days, definately cheaper than a new PC :p

Its not only matter of a boot code changing. FZero for an example uses CIC6104, which first computes a key value with which it ten XOR's the first bootstrap instructions from DMEM to RAM. IF you use another boot code, the non-xored instructions will be copies to RAM but being those invalid the whole system will run havoc (no need to worry, nothing happens, it onlyblack-screens).

So you see, in case of FZero (and all the ROM's that use CIC6204) exchanging the bootcode is not enough, you have to first crack the bootstrap instructions as well - which is what the cracs over at dextrose are for :).

Do you need to crack the games even when you use a bootemulator ?

They work only for getting past the CIC checksum check. NOT for dexoring the first MB though :/. So they will work only for those games which use basic CIC's like 6102.

Some of the 64 games do further checks for the correct cic. Some require certain size/type of save memory, ect. It's going to be different for each game and require real work to get any working that a patch isn't availiable or isn't as simple as having the correct save size.

Since Conker's uses a 16kb eeprom, the first thing I would try is the rom in conjunction with one of the few 16kb eeprom games:

Banjo-Tooie, Conker's Bad Fur Day, Cruis'n World, Donkey Kong 64, Excitebike 64, Kobe Bryant in NBA Courtside, Mario Party 3, Mario Tennis, Perfect Dark, Ridge Racer 64, Star Wars Episode 1 Racer, Yoshi's Story
