With Dragon Ball Super being a thing now I have a craving for some DBZ gaming goodness. BUT THERE ARE SO MANY and they're all pretty much the same. So which ones stand out? I was told to check out Xenoverse and while it's not a full on Dragon Ball game, I do have J Stars VS Plus and in short bursts I love it. I also have Battle Stadium DON on Gamecube and mostly play as the Dragon Ball characters. Beyond that The last Dragon Ball games I played was Battle of Z's Demo and the first Raging Blast.
I didn't like Sagas much at all but really enjoyed Budokai 1 & 2. I don't think I've ever watched more than one episode of Dragon Ball Z. A friend just had those 2 games so I ended up playing a lot of them.
Tenkaichi 3 and raging blast 2 are my favorites. Raging blast 2 has ridiculous fight that are f**!ing b.s at times. the games does have a few neato charachters ss3 vegeta and broly as well as tarble.
Hmm Guess I'll pick up Raging Blast 2 (and maybe the first game just becuase) Budokai HD, Battle of Z and Xenoverse......... should have me covered for modern DBZ games..........now as for the Saturn......
Dragonball Z Legends on Saturn (and playstation) are pretty decent but DBZ Super Botouden 4 (as i'll call it since dimensions doesn't count) is one of THE best looking 2D fighting ones i've seen since the Super Famicom ones. As for Raging Blast 1.. 'cuse my french but i'd fucking despise that garbage fighter! it's pretty medicore IMHO but you'll probably enjoy it more than i'd did! If you like i can give you my copy for a cheap decent price
I had Budokai Tenkaichi 1 on PS2 years ago and I was pretty into it for awhile. The general consensus is that 2 and 3 are a lot better. The PSP Shin Budokai games were pretty fun too. I've tried playing the SNES and Genesis games on numerous occasions but I just can't get into them.
I played Legends a lot when I was younger but a few years ago I tried to play it again and I think it hasn't aged very well. I should try it again someday but it may not be a good game now. I also liked the Gameboy games a lot but they are card game and not fighting games and they are in japanese. As for fighting games, I think Budokai 3 and Budokai Tenkaichi 3 are some of the best games.

I think I'm going to get the Budokai HD Collection and work from there. Also I realized it was Burst limit I used to have not Raging Blast.
Ya sure you want that HD Collection? because, i've heard some or one of the special moves and cutscenes were censored! Plus the soundtracks went completelly changed/rearranged that once was from the original PS2 version into some Raging Blast type soundtracks replaced in favor because of the composer who worked on the original soundtrack got caught and had his job fired just for plagirazing a few legit rock/metal artist songs he took without permission.
I ended up not getting any Dragon Ball games, I rebought Soul Calibur IV and V for PS3 and grabbed a copy of Vanquish.
