Yôichi Wada talked in an interview about the possibilities of develloping their biggest series, Dragon Quest And Final Fantasy, for multiple supports in the next-generation. All this to avoid the lost caused the increasing cost of making video games on the next generation of console, perhaps? i think we'll see alot of multi-ports on the next gen. cahaz _
I bet this will create a lot of mixed feelings on the interweb. The fanboys will be mad that "their" title will be going to other platforms, while being gloaty about getting another game that was usually for another system entirely. :/ I bet there will be "Price Wars" if this truly is the case. Which is good for us!!!
If Final Fantasy goes multisystem instead of Sony-Only, that's going to be the only way I'll play another Final Fantasy game after 12. 12 is still coming out for PS2, right? I really need to get mine repaired soon. Final Fantasy XI is already announced for X360 or Regular Xbox, is it not? I really hope this happens. I'm not getting a PS3 anyway, but I'm an FF fanboy, or at least I was when the series didn't suck - and I'd miss it a lot. I haven't had a console without a Final Fantasy game on it since the NES. Here's looking at FF13-14-15 on X360 or Revolution. And here's hoping Front Mission and Capcom's Breath of Fire follow suit
The Breath of Fire series is some of the best rpgs you can get! However, Ryu sounds like Erkel in BOF3.
As long as they don't start putting in the system specific extras, I don't care what console they make it on. My only concern is that the cross platform design is going to take away even more design time from the plot production and cause the game to be released even later in the US.
See, one of the things I don't like much about the new systems, is it's sort of like it was with PS1 and N64....the N64 version usually had better graphics or something, but awful music or no movies...the PS1 version sometimes had worse graphics and less features, but better music and movies, blah blah blah.... I like how it is now, If there's a cross platform game I always get it on Xbox, because usually that is the best version. With the new systems none of them look wildly different from one another, and I don't want it to become, buy a 53656$ PS3 for the best version type of thing........ As for FF, I think it's an awesome move, but I sort of wish they would have done it with regular Xbox....although FFX ruined everything FF for me, I swear, if anything has FF slapped on it everything thinks it can do no wrong.................I guess FFX wasn't THAT bad but.......you know. I mentioned the fact that FF11 is going to be on 360 to an FF-Sony fanboy kid I know and he flipped out and said that Xbox will "ruin the series". loolloloollolo
Doh when I initially read this I thought maybe the 2 series will somehow merge so you can combine quests and work together with people from the different games on joint missions LOL I guess I should put down the crack pipe.
Meh, minus one reason to get a ps3. Now there's only metal gear solid for me. but that's a big argument.
And even that one has gone multiplatform, with Substance and Subsistence going to Xbox. I'll say wait for 3 to go to X360 a couple months after the PS3 release.
Yeah, I meant fourth. Duh for me. and my bad. I thought i had read somewhere there would be subsistence for Xbox.
How Grandia III turns out will have a big impact on how much I give a shit about the statements in this thread. Yeah, they're only publishing it, but I'm sure their watching over Game Arts closely.
