Hey, Assemblers. I've got a nice history with Dragon Quest - I have fond memories with Dragon Warrior III on the NES, and Dragon Quest VIII remains a standout JRPG experience in the PS2 library. Unfortunately, I never owned a DS, so I never got to play Dragon Quest IX, and Dragon Quest X has remained a Japan-only product. Having said all that, Dragon Quest XI's announcement as a full-fledged sequel feels like a long-awaited return, but the industry has changed a lot in the 10 years since VIII's release. (For example, compare Square-Enix's 2005 reputation to its current one.) What bothers me, personally, is the fact that developer information is scarce for the new game. Orca, the/a team behind Dragon Quest X, is involved with XI, and, likewise, Level-5 is providing some unknown support. In the end, I'm not sure how excited I should be. How does everyone else feel about this announcement?
