I have just fished my DC from the garage to start to play my
    Samba De Amigo :smt023

Plug it into my TV in the living room

    Philips 36PW9607

    Sound perfectly clearly

But the picture is almost all black and you can just make out some ghosting.....of letters for the game plugged in.

    Just plugged it into to

    Philips 15PF99936

And it works perfectly. Using the same scart lead both times.

I just want to play Samba on a BIG screen :smt022

    Anyone any ideas :smt017

Yeah, try plugging it into another scart socket.

Sounds like your TV isn't auto switching to RGB.

Normally only one scart input on a TV is RGB compatible and its normally the very first one either 0 or 1 what ever is the first number.

Also are you sure your scart lead is one fully wired for RGB?

I've seen TVs where the input type (Svideo/RGB) had to be configured in the menu... perhaps have a look?
Or, you might also try plugging your DC into your VCR's scart input, perhaps that'll work.

I`m going to check with Philips as to why this may be.

You`d think with their "TOP" model TV...£2000 worth they would all be the same :smt017

    .

you think so would you. :)

our PDP has an issue with PAL prog even since they replaced the board after the 1st one was dude. Works fine with NTSC prog though and since bulk of my DVD collection are in NTSC it's no biggie.

still would like to watch DTV recording on prog since we have Philips DVD recorder with YUV input and PAL/NTSC prog.

    cheers

forget it, go buy a 19" monitor, that's what i got for 20 bucks HP, and nothing can beat it. Comes with superb hifi sounding polk audio attached to the monitor too.
