    Hi there,

I've bought a replace bios chip for my VA1 dreamcast a while ago.
    It should have been pre-programmed.
However when I attempted to remove my original rom chip, I've burned pad 17.

Now when I turn on my Dreamcast, there's a beep on my controller, the fan spins and even the gdrom drive works. But I get nothing on my TV.

Does anyone have a schematic which shows alternative points for the bios chip?
That way I can reroute the ones I'm not sure about (like pin 17 and 18) with kynar wire.

    Thank you.

i hope the new bios chip you put inside your console is flashed. if is blank your dreamcast wont boot no matter what. anyway i have ordered a chip my self. im gonna do a piggyback installation and im recoment people to do so for the following reassons
1 you dont have to desolder the old chip so no risk to damage any pad, only pin 12 needs to be lifted from the old chip and even if you damage it you wont use this pin directly
2 if compatiblity problem happens or a power outage occured when you flashing the new chip. you can return to stock bios by fliping a switch.

    Yes, it's pre-programmed, I'm sure.
I was just slobby at removing the existing chip.

Thank you for the diagrams! :D
That's awesome, now I'll find the non-connecting pads very easy!

Only thing you need to be careful of, is some of the pads have traces leading INTO and OUT of the pad. So you may have a connection to one of the test points, but not to where it leads elsewhere.

Fortunately, there are test points for both - but that site doesnt show them in a clear manner. you need to know where the connection to leading to (the gdrom, etc) then copy the name (for example, G1 D3) to find the other test point.

    An example of this:
