Dreamcast broadband through modem?

I was talking to Legit on the IRC channel, bemoaning my lack of Dreamcast online connectivity on account of me not having a landline phone to plug into, and he mentioned something about being able to route ones broadband PC connection to the Dreamcast via a modem. Does anyone have any info or weblinks about this?

Beware! That won't work on all dreamcasts or all PCs....it didn't work for me!
