I'm not sure if price checking without the item in question is against the rules

I wouldn't have the money for a bit to buy any of this. But I was wondering exactly what a Katana and the various other modules like the gd writer/duplicator etc goes for

I know they're up there, but just wondering what a good asking price is for when I eventually have the funds to attempt to buy one

I know there are 2 different versions of the dev box for Dreamcast, the set 5 and set 4. The set 5 dev box says Dreamcast on the front while the set 4 says Katana. I have a set 5 dev box and I have only seen it for sale here a handful of times in the past few years. They seem to usually go for around $600.

I also have the GD Rom Burner and I think those usually go for $300 or so.

Please keep in mind these are my guesses based of previously sold dev kits I have seen here. The prices could very well be more or less.

I also do not know the value for a set 4 dev box because I never saw one for sale here nor have I ever owned one.

Maybe someone like Wombat could be of more help. You should message him.

EDIT: Also if you buy one from somewhere like Ebay add an extra $400-$500 to the price for a dev box. Out in the wild those things can get pricey. I saw one sell for like $1200 a couple years ago (which is way to much in my opinion).

@jakeeeenator says it all; it's hard to exactly slap a price tag on it, seeing the prices for these units are all over the place. Especially on eBay and Yahoo they go for a hefty sum, I guess because in cases like that potential buyers take the gamble and hope for interesting data on the internal hard drive vs here on the forum where the contents are usually known before the sale. So forum price 600$, eBay/Yahoo 1000$+

GD Rom burner 200-300$ seems right.

In regards to the SET4 kits, these used to come around way more often then nowadays. Many of these have been rebranded in a SET5 by simply slapping a @Dreamcast sticker over it on the front :p (don't know if they made any internal changes alongside the sticker though).

The duplicator is kinda obsolete now, but I've seen it go between 500~1000$ there is one on eBay now btw; http://www.ebay.com/itm/222056901349

Also from what I have seen the set 4 dev boxes are usually missing a couple ports on the back compared to the set 5.
