As the title says. I use Xfinity for cable and a free ISP out of Michigan for dial up. We almost finished this mission, but it was getting to be about 2AM in the other guy's area, so we stopped, lol. But yeah, seems you don't need a DreamPi, BBA, or PC-DC server.
You never needed any of those things if you still have a landline in your home, and since your'e not using any of those it's safe to assume you do ?
I just find it to be a hassle to set up compared to a Gamecube with the broadband adapter and especially since tuedj's dcevolution now supports modem emulation and usb keyboard, so all I really need to do is turn the Wii on, select the game and play it.
Does the hardware aspect still work just like the Gamecube then, Hook up all the Wii's to a switch and away you go?
But why have about 5 people told me it won't work? Its using cable for the landline, if that makes any sense. Basically what it is, is a Dreamcast connecting using pulse dial over a VOIP cable phone service connects with a dial up ISP with little to no latency.
From what I heard having a landline in the US isn't all that common any more so people must've assumed you were trying to go the route of using a ethernet cable and using a converter to to connect a phone line cable.
You can use the Wii's wifi or the Wii lan adapter, the loader will initialize the network and the modem will be visible. (Note in this case modem is emulated not the broadband adapter) Fairly easy to setup if your Wii is modded and lets not forget you need an original copy of Phantasy Star Online for Gamecube
