Hello all. I've been tinkering away at a dreamcast and im near the end. Wanted to test out my sd adapter but I have an issue with dreamshell where I can't control or see any cursor. Does anyone know what the issue maybe as I'm at a loss. I know the controller board and controller work fine. And it's not the fuse on the board either for sure.

    Thanks

I only ever encounter that error when the control pad isn't properly plugged in while firing up the console. Control port 1 on my DC seems to be a little twitchy and sometimes needs reinserting a couple of times before it makes proper contact. I usually have no cursor when the pad isn't seen when firing up the console. Make sure you can select menu items in the BIOS before booting dreamshell.

I've started it without the disk and can navigate the menus fine. Then put in the disk and I get no cursor. I took out the vmu batteries and it beeps every time i start the dreamcast. The only thing I can think of is that I did have to replace the f1 fuse.

from what you tell me I guess i'll try another controller and board

If it works in everything else it won't be the controller board.
