Hi! Not a very important topic, but i am just curious ... After several failed attempts to perform a dreamcast-internal-vga-hack (i trashed those consoles), i got myself racketboys vga-cable (and a new dreamcast). It generates an awesome picture! ray: But since I wanted to perform a region change on this last remaining dreamcast, to play my games, I opened it, and found - what I thought it was - a modchip installed in it. I was happy and sad at the same moment - no soldering needed ... so i put the dreamcast together again, and booted my ikaruga and shikigami. since they are original jap releases, and the dreamcast is pal, i was sure about the modchip by now. I enjoyed the picture and went on to some other copies I had laying around, REZ and Mars Matrix. Both of them generated at very wierd picture ... i was not sure about this effect is intened when i was playing mars matrix, since i dont know that game ... I played it maybe 2,3 times (and did not like it) ... but it was very apparent to me with REZ, since the menues of REZ were purple - they used to be orange. the whole game was purplish! So, my question is ... whats wrong? DO you got an Idea? I got no idea. Like I said: Shikigami and Ikaruga are both perfect - they got all their native colors. But REZ and Mars Matrix look like they got a color swap ... it is not a tint ... more like a palette swap to purplish ... I can see all colors: from red to orange to green ..... but the colors are just wrong. I am trying to add a picture later, so you you know what I mean. (unable to find my cam right now) I got no other dreamcast handy to check the reason of the behaviour .. is it the modchip? the vga cable? ... but maybe you got an idea. Kind regards, ninn
