    hi ppl,

i found this very amazing tutorial while looking for a DC GD Rom replacement, and as there were a few known ones like SD Adapter, GDEmu there is talking about a G1-ATA Adapter (that was build but is not available anymore), and then a method to connect an Harddisk directly onto the DC-Motherboard using a common IDE Cable (the wires on the DC connect site are splitted into 40 connectors to solder directly to the MBoard)

You can find the Tutorial right here [ALL CREDIT TO THE ORIGINAL CREATOR]

As I'm a learner in soldering and stuff I'm wondering that there isn't more talk about this method. But the original tutorial is in Japaanese / Chinese and google translate doesn't help much on that, as the pictures are ok but quiet sloppy for someone not being that experienced I wanted to ask you if someone did this already or if not why ? Is there any bugs or reasons not doing it? Or is there even a better more detailed "how to" out there ?
As i have 3 Dreamcasts round here of which 2 have messed up GDRoms i would risk one of these and give it a shot!
Am i right that i can directly boot to HDD / SD Card Reader without dreamshell CD if i have a modded 2nd bios chip installed to my DC ???

Hope this hasn't been posted earlier as the forum search didn't give me any results!

Yeah ok thanks i thought so thats why i just ordered two of this Babys to get the Bios ready for this Mod!

Anyone did it already ? Does it work well, or any known bugs ??? How hard is the soldering to do, how easy is it to f*** up the Console ?
Would love to hear some of your experiences if anyone has them ???

I will post some of my results as soon as i get my Bioschips and have them soldered in proberly !

    Awesome project!
Any thoughts on a casing for the drive? I started in this direction for my project but the dc is a tight fit.
Best of luck to you, I cant wait to see how it turns out.
