I need immediate help with this, cause its for a customer. I modded the Dreamcast with Regionfree bios and Dreamshell piggyback, an SD cardreader and the IDE mod, also VGA and audio. Everthing work just fine, but the IDE mod gives me headaches. I did it twice now to be sure i have soldered everything correctly. Here's how I do. First I startup the hdd, then I the DC via Dreamshell Bios --> Sd card. After that I go into Iso loader and selevt the game i have on the hdd. I select the settings for the hdd and select UDMA Mode. When i start the game, it executes it but then immediately the DC restarts into Dreamshell. I have no fuckin clue whats going on. I tested the IDE mod solderjoints, tested the Regionfree bios and Dreamshell bios solderjoints and the SD card too, everything is fine with them. Is there a possibility that the Dreamshell loader on the bios chip isn't compatible with the Dreamshell files on the SD card or can it be that the whole DC isn't comaptible ?? please please please i need immediate help with this ! this is the first time something like this happens to me and i dont want the customer to wait. i did this mod several times before, never ran into such a problem. regards DragoonC
Hi dudes, This could help you http://www.assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?54790-Dreamcast-ide-ATA-question Un saludo
I have original bios and piggyback regionfree (Link83), also a regionfree (Link83) and piggyback Dreamshell bios solution, on both it behaves exactly the same. i tested every Dreamshell rev and sometimes i get error codes (DS RC2) or freezes and reboots (DS RC3) or just black screen. I tested with Bomberman Online in gdi, cdi and extracted files mode. what makes me go insane is, that it boots the cdi and then a little trainer with chiptune music comes, something from team echelon and after that black screen (where the game should start). even now on my machines where it ran before ! I dont know anymore what could be wrong here, i checked the format on the hdd, FAT32 16k or 32k both are accepted by Dreamshell and the files popup, saying the hdd is accepted. Could it be a Holly or G1 problem with not passing the screen and the game plays or am I just to stupid to get the correct setting in Dreamshell for the HDD ?
