Dreamcast in Pace Set Top Box

    I was browsing gamespot and came across an article about a pace pvr digital set top box with a dreamcast in it http://uk.gamespot.com/news/2681885.html?q=dreamcast

    does anyone know information on this and wether it was relesed or not as i was very interested in the idea

    As far as I know with the death of the dc it never went through.

    There are pictures of it with the lid off around on the net. I'm sure a bit of googling will turn them up.

    Most interesting thing is that in the pictures there seems to be no gdrom and yet he seems to be playing a game. So they had worked on running games
    from a HD. Would be interesting to get a DC hooked up with a HD to play games from.

    Some collage students from japan got a dc to read a hard drive, but I am not sure if they were able to get games to load.

    I know someone who planned to modity a normal DC so it could read a HDD. I dont know if he has finished it by now though (we only spoke some weeks ago). However, it is most likely possible, he was pretty far with it.

    optical disk emulation off a hard disk happens on dev hardware. I don't see why a skilled person couldn't do the same on a retail console
