Dreamcast Keyboard/Mouse Adapter

Was there any attempt to make a modern (IE USB) Keyboard and Mouse work with the Dreamcast? I seem to recall Madcatz had an adapter, I see a few on eBay can these be modded for use with a USB Keyboard/Mouse?

 

i know the Dreamcast had a PS2 adapter allowing that type of Keyboard or mouse... but idk about USB devices

 

If the adapter takes PS2, why not try a USB to PS2 adapter? Should only add and extra inch or so to the adapter itself.

 

The question is, has there been a homebrew adaptor made?

This is mainly the opposite of what the op wants. Though it's really interesting!

Well, the knowledge required to do so seems to be contained in this project and the documents it uses at its reference. But AFAIK no one actually did it.

That's funny has someone wanted to use a DC keyboard on his computer some months ago and asked here and nobody knew if it was possible. Using this guide he could.

 

SegaLife wants to use a usb mouse and keyboard on the dreamcast not the other way around
