Hey something has bothered me for awhile, as some of you may know there were cool Dreamcast controllers only available through the DreamPoint bank (Sega's version of club Nintendo). There was a marble pattern one, but including the one i own, i have seen 5 or 6 of the Marble controllers on the internet or friends who own them. And every single time the pattern on the controller looks slightly different. Were they actually made to look different? Or are there a lot of fakes? I am very interested to know the answer.
Since they were probably made something like this, it's unlikely that any two will ever look the same. It's just part of the process. edit: scratch that, I just google-image-searched them and realized I must've confused them with something else. Still, they look solid, not painted, so I think there might still be some swirling involved before/while injecting them into the molds, making them unique.
That's pretty cool, hmmm i wonder if that is the way they made them, did they make a whole bunch or just make one every time someone ordered one? I always just thought they just massed produced them but given the fairly low quantity of them it makes sense they would make them this way. This makes me like the Marble one even more now since the other controllers were made using the same pattern but each Marble Controller is unique and possibly the wood one as well.
Ooooh yeah those 'wooden' controllers are droolworthy... And here's a nice custom one with a different finish.
