Dreamcast Memory Card Utility Disc

Discussion in 'Rare and Obscure Gaming' started by Greatsaintlouis, Jan 11, 2005.

  1. Found I had an image of this on my harddrive, so I burnt it to CD and popped it into the Dreamcast. Up popped a menu screen listing the version number, date and time, and the following options: Game Start (greyed out), Backup Utility, Disc Utility (greyed out), System Config, Console, and Exit (returns you to the Dreamcast BIOS menu.

Does anyone know how to access the Game Start or Disc Utility options (yes, I've tried putting an actual game disc in, no luck), or what the Console option is for?

Also, is there anyone that has a scan of the disc itself that would be willing to share it so I could make a nifty label?

Maybe the Game Start option is to start VMU games? Do you have any games installed on any of your VMUs?

Maybe you can play VMU games through the controller or something crazy...

  3. Don't have any VMU games currently installed, but I suppose that's worth checking out.

Along those lines, does anyone know which games (US and JP, mainly) have VMU games available?

Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 I think, Tokyo Bus Guide (God knows what it's like - I've never bothered buying batteries so never played the VMU game)... er, I can't think right now. A few games had unlockable VMU games. I can't find any decent list of games on Google either...

Dint powerstone (1 or 2) have some kind of game?

  6. Yeah, I've had difficulty finding a list of DC games with VMU mini games.

Sonic 1 & 2, Power Stone, Skies of Arcadia, Trickstyle are ones that come to mind straight away.

I made a list once of every game thatfeatured a VMU mini game but God know swhere that's gone. can't be arsed making it again. Just off the top of my head I can tell you that Climax Landers (Time Stalkier) has loads of mini games and Rent-a-Hero has one too.
