No. I did not bother with midi files I can find on DC gd-rom. I would look at how is sounding the dreamcast spu hardware when we send midi musics through a mpu-401 and midi tracker. See if this console is suitable as musical instrument for chiptune. If the hardware has a specific timbre or others sound effect stuff. I assume no, but it will be interesting to give it a try... Plus, it will be interesting to see inside the cable.
Here is a scan of the bottom part of the MIDI cable I will get more and a list of the labels for the components you cannot read.
Has anyone tried this with the Rez beta? There's midis in that game, and a debug mode that displays midi channel related stuffs...
Nice thinking there R3Z1NAT0R, it would be interested indeed to hear from someone if it's possible to use the MIDI-cable with the Vibes-beta. Btw I was just looking/browsing for the cable, and I ran into this short introduction video about the OTOIRE; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ou9Mv80_7Bo (amazingly almost the whole program is in English!)
Hey everyone, I posted a new thread about this but thought I may as well post here too. I am currently looking for the MIDI Cable. Does anyone have one they would sell me? I want to try using it with O.TO.I.RE so that I can sequence some synthesizers and drum machines I own. If you know of someone/somewhere I could buy one from I would really appreciate it. Thanks!
