Hey, can someone help me configure my Dreamcast for broadband. It's still on old dialup. I have no clue where I need to change the settings. Please respond.

Okay, well I managed to figure it out, but I still get that error message that says, "Phantasy Star Online does not support Broadband" when signing online. Please help :( P.S. I am using the Codebreaker cheat thing.

::Nevermind, didn't find anything on how to configure::

That just sounds odd, since PSO does support Broadband. I know the JPN version does... I assume the US version did to, no?

Yeah, it's really strange. Before I go online it says, Will connect with Broadband Adapter. Then I get that message when it's connecting. Gajin to the rescue!

I have problems running PSO Version 2 through BroadBand. I can connect to the server and enter the lobby but as soon as I try to enter a game it disconnects saying there is an error. All my stuff is Japanese running in Japan. Very odd.

Hmm...I just entered the PSO V2 codes and tried that. I got an error message that told me to configure my Broadband Adapter at Website. It said PPoEE or something like that is not required.

Okay, I am there now and it took me to an IP Address etc... configuration thing. What do I enter?

Your problem is a very common one. YOu go into a game, then it freezes, right? From what I know, it's b/c you don't have specific UDP ports open. PSO uses TCP/IP in the lobby, then when you enter a game, the protocol switches to UDP ( = warping characters!) If you've got those ports closed, you're screwed.

The other problem COULD be your hardware. I actually had to have my ISP upgrade the firmware on my DSL modem (remotely) for PSO v2 to work w/ broadband. If you look on the OLD, OLD DC message boards at Sonic Teams website, you might be able to find an answer a more specific answer.

Phantasy Star: As I'm playing Blue Burst, I've not tried the homebrew server. I jus thought it was weird that you got an error message that isn't true. As for your configuration question -- what does it say to enter? Subnet, Gateway, etc?

Okay, right now I am at a Broadband Setup Screen.

    First thing I see is

    IP Address: 255.255.255.255
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255

    DNS 1: 255.255.255.255
    DNS 2: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway: 255.255.255.255

I have no clue what to change those to or what to do.

    .

    IP Address: 255.255.255.255
    Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.255

    DNS 1: 255.255.255.255
    DNS 2: 255.255.255.255
    Gateway: 255.255.255.255

apart from subnet mask those numbers are wrong.

IP address is the unique address of your DC so you will need to enter the address of your DC there. If you use router at home you can assign this one yourself.

DNS is the IP address of sever that converts name to IP address - i.e. www.assembler.com => 66.211.137.15
it's like white page of Internet if you like. As DNS sever often overloaded normally there's back up server which is DNS 2.

Gateway is the entry of point where you enter Internet. If you use router than the IP address of your router is the gateway address - it's often assigned by your ISP to your router/cable modem.

you will need to get these information from your ISP to fill in.

anyone care to add/correct feel free to do so. :)

    cheers

you know importing a copy of PSO is overkill. I use Broadband passport to configure my settings perfectly the first time. Worked like a charm : ).

If I remember right, the US PSO v1 doesn't support the BBA (it gives you a error), while the JP one does.
Both US and JP v2 supports the BBA.

    My two cents.

If I remember correctly, US PSO v1 does support Broadband...if....

You setup your BBA with the japanese internet software.
