Hi,my dreamcast does not work anymore, when I turn it remains locked for a few seconds then black screen on initial logo screen for 2-3 min, finally comes to the menu, below the picture, gd-rom drive does not start the disc.
I unplugged the GDROM from a working dreamcast now works, but it is possible to repair the damaged one?
You can tweak the potentiometer of the gdrom drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwGzKfDURzU Although this will shorten the life of the gdrom drive! Another method is to swap the gdrom drive with a pc cd rom: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Ze5dCTxamg and : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yruN_oTKSH0 You might find a tutorial on howto swap a gdrom drive with a pc cd rom drive... Most tutorials I have found are missing info. If you do find a complete tutorial pls post here.
