I have dumped quite a few rare Dreamcast GD-Roms today and I thought that I could share a few of those with you all, so here they are:

    Virtual Fighter 4 Passport : http://lan.st/dcdumps/Virtua_Fighter_4_Passport.rar

This is some kind of webbrowser to connect to vf.net I do not have much more details on what it does

    Virtua Fighter 4 History : http://lan.st/dcdumps/Virtua_Fighter_4_History.rar

This is the most interesting disc of both, it contains a lot of pics, videos and all the soundtracks of the previous Virtua Fighter games, a must have for VF fans !

Both discs are additions to the Japanese Shenmue II Limited Edition.

Both dumps are full GDI dumps untouched, unfortunately for some unknown reason NullDC does not like those 2 (some opcode issues) so you will need to convert them to selfboot (and possibly rip the history disc) in order to play them on your Dreamcast (or you can wait until a NullDC update or some other emulator supports them) Also considering those are rare discs that I have not seen dumped anywhere, having the full untouched dump is the best for conservation purposes (and for the sake of it :p )

To finish here is the video dumped from my Project Berkley GD-Rom (the gd-rom only contains the video itself) and converted to divx format (to save upload time and space)

For those who want the unconverted video and/or the project berkley disc dump I can provide both later.

The video contains very nice footage of shenmue betas and an interview with yu suzuki as well as tons of character arts. The video was originally in 352x240 m1v format, the one here has been rescaled to 640x480 into divx6
oddly enough the video quality seems better (at least to me) than the original m1v video, I have yet to come across a project berkley video of that quality on the internet (or even a full one to begin with xD)

anyway here it is for people who want to grab it : http://lan.st/dcdumps/berkleydivx.rar

    Cheers :)

Always wanted to check out the Berkley disc, unwilling to pay a lot of money for what used to be a free disc. Thanks for the video.

If you want I can upload the full GDI dump of the disc :p (although the disc is kinda only the video itself.)

For the next upload I am hesitating between The DreamOn collection (a few Demo discs (one featuring a huge demo of RE:Code veronica)) in gdi formats, segagaga in GDI ormat (although I think someone dumped that) and Suika as well as After (I have not seen anyone dumping those 2)

If you have any suggestions (and if it is something I have) feel free to ask so I dump it :)

hang on, dumping Segagaga, Suika (Been dumped years ago too) and After counts as wares since they're full retail games. That's not what ASSEMbler is about.

Thanks for all the work so far. What method are you using to dump them?

The videos I can appreciate. Commercial software... well it's a grey area.
Sadly it's what killed the DC in the first place.

Share videos and betas, demos but keep the commercial stuff out of here.

Just a quick note... it's not worth rar'ing up divx files, unless you're trying to password protect it. In this case there's about 100 bytes of difference between the archive and the video ;)

I don't think there's much harm in raw dumps of GD-ROMs any more, anyway; it's not like anyone can burn them, and for the obscure stuff it's probably time to start preserving/archiving. This isn't the right place for it, though, don't get me wrong.

Has anyone seen Yu Suzuki Game Works disc iso? I've heard it was a free add-on to a book about Yu Suzuki.

Yes, the Game Works ISO is out there. The disc wasn't a "free" add on but part of the book. Basically the disc contains the same ports of Hang On, After Burner, Out Run and Space harrier that are found in Shenmue 2. The only extra is Power Drift which we could argue was going to be in Shenmue 3.

If you wouldn't mind, could you post the checksums for those commercial game dumps and possibly others on my forums?

    http://dumpcast.thekickback.com/forum/index.php

We are a project, part of TOSEC, trying to index all game dumps, and we would appreciate your input. Thanks.

Actually the Yu Suzuki game works disc has more options added to games like hang on. Thanks for the video.

that's true such as the drum beat in the music however they don't seem to do anything. It's been a very long time since I checked out the disc but I also thing Space harrier has reverse controls option. It wouldn't surprise me if these options are in the shenmue version but just not accessible.

Great uploads of some vinatage dc discs - thanks!

I wonder whatever happened to the English translation of SegaGaGa? I remember rumours of a team of people working on it, but that was a long, long time ago.

I always zip files I upload, even with no compression. It's the easiest way to verify the integrity when you copy it around.

The guy who was doing last updated a couple of months ago. His blog is here:http://www.1up.com/do/my1Up?publicUserId=5772603

I'd imagine the translations at a halt right now, but it may be possible to directly contact him to see the status.

You never know though, policenauts translation has been in the works for years, and now each day it's becoming more of a reality.
