Dreamcast power led mod...some

Dreamcast power led - some advice please

So many guides on how to change the orange led but all the ones I've found neglect to mention what voltage it needs to be!!!
i searched this forum first but I still can't find an answer, am I right to assume its 3.3v ?

It's quite easy as the pins on the dreamcast PSU are all marked and the one they always use is 3.3v, if I remember correctly the far right pin?

I've always wondered why the mod never involves just soldering the new LED in the same place, is the original some unusual voltage or soemthing?

 

Thats what I'm asking about, yes I ccould easily take a feed of the psu but I was trying to be a bit more professional

 

I'm 99% sure it's 5v.

 

I used a 5V blue LED in my previous mod. It's fairly easy and took only few seconds of soldering.
