i have a problem with my dreamcast. when i swich it on, i can hear a loud buzzing coming from the tv, and after 30 seconds appears the dreamcast logo, the logo apears all at once, and after that the system freeze, the menu does't appear. maybe someone can help me...
The buzzing sounds like it might be because of a bad connection with your AV cable. Make sure lead going into your Dreamcast is firmly seated in the output port. The logo appears all at once when the lid to the Dreamcast isn't shut. See if there's a problem with the switch on the GD-ROM unit itself.
no button is pressed. but if either a button is pressed or the lid is opened, shouldn't it go into the menu?
no, it doesn't have a mode chip. i made the vga mode with the audio jack, the vga was working great, but the audio had buzzing. then i opened the dreamcast, removed the mod and then i got this problem. i checked and there's no bridge of solder or any shortcut.
latest news when i open the dc: 30 seconds of black screen, the logo appears all at once and stays for about 5 minutes and then the menu appears. it seems there's some kind of latency... LATER EDIT i've partialy solved the problem. pin b11 of the gdrom port was broken and now the dc works, but i still have no audio, only some buzz. could the audio problem be at the gdrom port? LATEST EDIT after some more testing it appears that the still doesn't work, and the games have errors. guilty gear works until you actually start the game, gigawing 2 work but you can't destroy the enemies, and the enemies can't destroy you.
