This dude is trying to sell burns and rom disks as unreleased dc games. Gary Walton's Offerings and Email Address: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dreamcast/
No, no. This guy has always been pretty good, all his stuff is custom. I've used him before to make me a disc-based copy of Hellgate and Half-Life and never had a problem. He's a tad expensive and I only stopped using him because I reckon Braze's quality of work is vastly superior.
Why does your link redirect through youtube??? Is this some kind of scam by you? Gary is ok, he makes it obvious you are buying his reproduction and not some kind of secret unreleased GDrom if you contact him.
I wonder if the copies of System Disc 2 that this guy is selling can actually boot GD-R's or not, if they can I may have to drop him an email.
Nothing irritates me more than when some nobody shows up and tries to drag a reputable persons name through the mud. I've dealt with Gary a few times and here's my understanding of what he sells. Reproductions [and he ensures you know they are repro's] of unreleased games [half life etc] Custom covers with no disc. Localized games that didnt get released in that region with accompanying cover and manual etc. Just because YOU are uninformed does not mean others are.
Really like some of the work he did, although I'm pretty sure he did not make all design's himself, at least one of the designs are made by me back in the day. It's a shame he does not provide any credit to the original creators. However something more troublesome is the fact that he also sells custom versions of commercial homebrew games which are still offered for sale by the creators, that's unacceptable and a big slap in the face of these hardworking indie's. It's technically impossible for the System Disc 2 dump / CD-R version to actually work with GD-R's, so the copy is more of a novelty than actually usable.
I bought acouple of DC games from him years ago (PBA bowling and Half Life), I DID get burned discs with them and they were pretty pricey _ I bought them for the nice custom covers. When I got them there were spelling mistakes on the covers so was alittle disappointed.
My question is, if he's making repos of unreleased games (Half-Life, Splatterhouse Trilogy, etc), why does he put an ESRB rating on them?
Period-authenticity I guess. Which homebrew is he repro'ing but they're still available? What do you mean by burned discs? Aren't they all?
damn, should've assumed but didn't know these existed, that Hellgate looks good! if TJ&E3 was more stable i'd think about it for that one.
I've bought from Gary twice myself. His stuff is such good quality and for some games its nice not having cdr.
