I think shenmue 2 was never ported to the ps2 due to ram issues.

From what I remember didn't the dreamcast have more video ram to work with compared to ps2? Cause I know treasure said in an interview somewhere that they couldn't port ikaruga to ps2 due to ram issues as well.

i don´t think its true, because there are ps2 games with better graphics than shenmue, also i think its the same thing for ikaruga.

Sega was doing a giveaway today and I was too late to win anything so I demanded something from them.

    Shenmue 3 design documents....

they linked me to the Mega 64 video

I was half serious about it too

By the way I don't know about Ikaruga et el but CAVE could not port Ketsui to the PS2 due to ram issues

Really? Cutting our noses off to spite our faces?

Really, I love Sega consoles, and was a massive flag waver for the Saturn and Dreamcast back in high school, but surely we've all moved on from that, realised that supporting one corporation over another doesn't make much sense?

I'm not necessarily sure a Shenmue III is a good idea at this stage anyway, given it would be hard to get the original team back together, hard to restore the the motivation and inspiration that they had back in those days, and even harder to make the game stand up in today's marketplace. But if I felt it could work, I wouldn't care what console they devleoped it for as long as it did the game justice.

And yeah, Shenmue II was released on the XBox because of an exclusivity deal, which is also why the Dreamcast version of Shenmue II was never released in North America. It's no coincidence that Peter Moore became head of Microsoft's gaming division soon after, either.

What we need is millions of dollars to blow on a project that will prove not very popular with most gamers who'd prefer a standard FPS or Sports game wrapped in wonderful presentation.
