Hi guys, I installed the MX29lv160tmc-90 on top the original bios linke the mmmonkey guide: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/sega-dreamcast-region-free-bios/ I started the Dreamshell 4.0 and Select the BIOS Flasher, the system recognize the new chip, erasing the new chip, but I have a error during the writing session. Look my video: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
Hallo, you have to connect the pin 23 of the new Chip also to 3.3V, which can be taken from IC302 Pin1. This is the missing wire. Greets Rainer
Oh Raibol1, thank very much, now work perfectly THANKS... One more question: I have the GQ-4X programmer with the adapter for the MX29.... the bios file is differents for the VA0/VA1/VA2 or the chip is different? Thansk
Hallo, i think there is only one bios file, it is not different for the va versions. The only difference is, that in VA0 the original Chip is supplied with 5V and in VA1 and VA2 the Chip is supplied with 3.3V, both can be replaced with MX29lv160-tmc90, where PIN 23 in VA0 must be lifted and conntected to 3.3V an in VA1 it doesn´t need to, because the board also delivers 3.3V.
