I have a VGA box made by Blaze. It worked for many years until recently, after several months of inactivity, it does not power on--at least the LED light does not go on and there is no signal being sent through the VGA or composite and s-video nor the audio outs.

I have opened up the box and have tested for continuity from the pins on the cable to their hookup on the board. It passes that test.

Anyone have ideas about the problem or how to fix it?

Do you have a regular DC composite cable? see if the Dreamcast itself is putting out any video - you might have a bad AV port.

I realize I should have mentioned that. Yes, the regular composite cable works well. I also use a s-video cable, and that cable works well.

Do you mean the pins connecting to the board or the pins that are recessed in connector which plugs into the Dreamcast?

If you mean the the pins on the connector / plug, I really don't know how precise I could bend them or how I would reach them. The way I tested continuity was by placing a sewing needle against each pin on the plug and testing the corresponding point on the board where the wire was attached.

i have the same situation with the OP. composite works totally well. vga only works when i bend the connecter (the one plugged to the dreamcast) and leave it that way.

edit: to be more precise, i have to bend the box so that it is next to the dreamcast (the cable between vga box and dreamcast makes a 180 angle) vga only works this way. composite always works.
