for a couple of days now I been working on a VGA mod for my dreamcast.
I soldered everything in, but now I don't get any signal on the VGA or normal connector.

What could it be ? Can anyone give me any hint where to check.

I also installed helder's internal sd card mod, I don't know if it has anything to do with it.

    Thanks

Without pictures of the mod it's hard to say. I would start by making sure there are no shorts and I would test continuity with a multimeter
    /end uneducated advice

    Hey,

Yes i understand, i will make some pictures, i think i burned some of the connection for the video output:(:(.

I hope i can still fix it, i also had little bit op problem with the SD-Card mod,
A lot of legs where solderd together, but i manage to fix it with some desolder wick.

Isn't there an on-off switch for this function? The VGA mod is pointless now since there are perfectly fine cables on the internet.

Yes cables and boxes also work but I like this "clean" solution.

Here are some pictures of the mod, hope you can see something I am missing.

I used a multimeter to check connection. The only ones connected are the 3 ground points.
And VGA/RGB depending on how the switch is.

Okay so today I cut the wires from the board to see if I get video again.
    But it did not work...

After I desoldered everything, cleaned it up, and soldered all the wires again.
I also made a new board to be sure. No luck.

If I check with a multimeter from the connection on the back of the dreamcast to the board with the resistors everything is good.

I read some where if the dreamcast don't find a good grounded cable it will also give so signal. Would this also be for audio ? Because I don't know if I grounded it the right way.

Or Could it be that one of of the legs from the serial port is joint underneath the SD mod ? Would this also give only a black screen?

Hope some one can help me.
The dreamcast turns on light goes on but no picture.

    Okay quick update.

I checked the legs of the serial connector, the legs on the left side where bridged.
After some trying I get it al out.

Now for the next problem. On my pc monitor I get a vga signal :)

But when I connect to my Samsung tv it say it does not support the resolution.

Also the rgb still does not work, if I flip the switch it still gives me vga output.

So on both switch sides its VGA. I thought maybe I have a bridge to.
But when I mesure the solder point it looks good.

The internal SD card reader also works now so just need to sort out this :).

So my little dreamcast is still alive !!! :)
